Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used when you use CouplesTodo.
1. Data We Collect
Account information
Name and email address provided at registration.
App content
Lists, categories, items, and notes you create inside the App.
Push notification token
A device token used to deliver push notifications (e.g. when your partner adds or completes an item). Stored only while your account is active.
Usage data
We do not collect analytics, behavioural tracking, or advertising identifiers.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account
- To sync your lists and items across devices and with your partner
- To send push notifications about shared list activity
- To send transactional emails (e.g. partner invites, password resets)
- To respond to support requests
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to any third party.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the App:
- Neon — database hosting, stores your account and list data
- Resend — email delivery for invite and transactional emails
- Expo — push notification delivery to your device
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
4. Data Shared With Your Partner
When you connect with a partner, they can see all lists, items, and notes within your shared space. Your name is visible to your partner. Your email address is not shared with them.
You can disconnect from your partner at any time in Settings, which removes their access to the shared space.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — including your lists, items, and push token — is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account.
6. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can delete your account (and all associated data) directly in the App. For any other requests, contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
